Stacy Cannon, Director

Stacy Cannon became the Director of the Planned Giving and Endowments office in January 2006 after serving as the Associate Director since 2002. Before joining University Advancement, she served as the Director of Advancement for Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business.
She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver. Prior to joining her husband’s alma mater and becoming a proud member of the Cal Poly family, Stacy was a development professional at the University of Colorado for five years and at the University of California Santa Barbara for two years. Stacy has lived in San Luis Obispo since 1998. She enjoys spending time with her children, golfing, cycling and fly fishing, among other athletic pursuits.

Richard LeRoy, Regional Development Director
Richard (Ritchie) LeRoy became the first Regional Development Director in 2009. Richard already has a long history with Cal Poly as a student and staff member. From 2000 to 2008, he was the director of Pacific Programs for International Education where he managed faculty-led study abroad programs. He then served as the assistant director of the Cal Poly Alumni Association managing regionally-based alumni chapters before moving to the new development position.
The Regional Development Program will enhance Cal Poly’s outreach in key areas around the state. Richard will travel the state helping alumni, parents and friends of the university reconnect with Cal Poly in meaningful ways including volunteer opportunities and advocacy. He will also work with college- and unit-based development operations to identify giving opportunities that support the university.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Richard received bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish from Louisiana State University in 1995. After serving two years in the Peace Corps in Armenia, he moved to San Luis Obispo in 1998, first joining the Cal Poly family as a student completing his master’s in education. Richard received is M.A. in Education from Cal Poly in 2002. He enjoys running, hiking, living in San Luis Obispo, international travel, and spending time with his wife, Jill.

Allie Jones, Scholarship Coordinator

Allie Jones became the first Scholarship Coordinator for Cal Poly in October 2006. Allie is charged with helping to establish and administer scholarships, awards and endowments for the University. Allie came to Cal Poly from Children’s Hospital Central California in Fresno, where she worked as the foundation representative for major and planned gifts. Prior to that Allie was the Director of Resource Development for a local San Diego based non-profit, Kids Included Together. Allie holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of San Diego and became a Cal Poly alum in 2009 when she completed her Master of Public Policy. Allie enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling.
